The Way

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

Over two millennia ago a humble Jewish Carpenter changed the world with a radical message of love and forgiveness.  The people who gave their lives to his philosophy didn’t call themselves “Christians” as we do today, but instead called themselves The Way to reflect Jesus’ statement, “I am The Way, The Truth and The Life, and no one comes to the father except through me!”   Tragically in our time the revolutionary message of Jesus Christ has been  hidden in a web of  politics, political correctness, and social apathy.

I am writing this blog primarily for my children to help them understand not just what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ, but why we believe what we believe.  I am not a Christian because of the way I feel about Jesus Christ, I am a Christian because the life, death, and resurrection are historical facts that have real evidence.  I am a Christian because the Bible is a unique document that evidence shows has a 100% accuracy rate, despite the claims of naysayers.  Invariably, those who decry the Bible as flawed are proven wrong.

There are some amazing teachers out there who dig deep into this topic and make an airtight case for the truth of the Bible as a historical document that tells the story of the most important events in the history of all creation!  A few of those books are listed below.

My hope is that you will read this with an open mind and then investigate for yourself.  Don’t believe what someone tells you just because you want to support what you already believe…dig in and check it out!  Fact Check!  Teach yourself to think about what you believe , seek out what is true and real (even if it doesn’t quite fit in what you want to see), and hold on to the truth.
